Woody Terpene

Woody terpenes are a class of organic compounds found in many plants, including conifers, cedar, and sandalwood. These terpenes are responsible for the unique woody, earthy, and sometimes spicy aromas of these plants. Some of the most common woody terpenes found in cannabis include alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, and humulene.

Alpha-pinene, for example, is a woody terpene that is also found in pine needles and is responsible for their distinct aroma. In cannabis, alpha-pinene is believed to have a variety of potential therapeutic benefits, including anti-inflammatory and bronchodilator effects. Beta-pinene, on the other hand, is found in many herbs and spices, including basil, rosemary, and dill, and is believed to have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Humulene is another woody terpene that is found in many strains of cannabis and is also present in hops, which are used to make beer. Humulene is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties and may also act as an appetite suppressant. Overall, woody terpenes are an important component of the complex aroma and flavor profiles of many cannabis strains and may also contribute to their potential therapeutic effects.
